Walt G. Homan
As CEO of MACH Energy, Walt assembled the team, developed the go-to-market and drove the strategy for the company since its inception in 2001. Under his leadership, MACH Energy has established itself as the market leader in energy management software for the commercial real estate industry. Walt was most recently selected as one of the Top 35 executives to watch by the industry's technology trade association RealComm. Prior to co-founding MACH Energy, Walt spent over 20 years in the energy industry in a number of key leadership positions. As Sr. Vice President, he ran the nationwide unregulated electricity and natural gas businesses for Semrpa Energy, a $6B San Diego based utility. At Destec Power Services, he conceived of, secured funding for and guided a new division to profitability by leveraging several high profile deals including a landmark network transmission agreement that was reported on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Walt graduated with a BSME from the U.C. Berkeley.
Frank R. Atkinson
Frank R. Atkinson brings to MACH Energy's Board over 35 years of experience in high-technology and international venture finance. At present, Frank is a private equity consultant to entrepreneurs in Northern California and an advisor to two European institutions regarding their private equity programs in the U.S. He is co-founder and consultant, Euro Asset Partners (www.ea-partners.com), a business development firm which assists new-to-market U.S. technology firms with their entry into Europe, and high technology EU companies on their entry into the U.S. Before Euro Asset Partners, and for over 16 years, Frank was Co-founder and General Partner of HMS Group which managed venture funds focused on seed and start-up investments in the telecommunications industry.
Earlier venture finance experience includes executive and senior tenures at Thompson Clive, Investment Management Group, Triad Venture Capital Corporation and Continental Capital Corporation, where the firms spanned an international spectrum including Europe, Hong Kong, Mexico City, the Middle East, and the U.S. Frank played professional football with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. He received his BA at Stanford and MBA at UCLA.
James V. Diller, Jr.
James Diller, Jr. is an executive with Venture Tech Alliance and is a semiconductor industry veteran with 20 years of senior management experience. Most recently Jim managed an investment fund doing angel investing in start-up companies.
Prior to his investment management role, Jim was CEO of Altos Semiconductor, a start-up company in thermal and system management, that was later sold to Micrel. He has also held various positions at National Semiconductor including Vice President of the System Products Group.
Jim holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Jim is currently on the Board of Directors for MACH Energy, Zenasis Technologies, Optichron, Quicksilver Technology and a board observer of Axiom Microdevices.
George R. Eckard
George Eckard has been involved in over $5 billion of institutional real estate sales and finance since 1978. He is currently Senior Director of Capital Markets Group at Cushman & Wakefield, one of the world's largest real estate service providers. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, George spent 14 years at Wells Fargo Bank and 7 years at Colliers International. During his career, George has represented a large number of major institutions in acquisition, disposition and finance of commercial real estate, including banks, pension funds, insurance companies, REITs, Wall Street opportunity funds and foreign and domestic private investors.
George has an AB degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. In addition, he is a licensed Real Estate Broker and a member of numerous real estate trade organizations.
Kristin K. Martinez
Kristin Martinez is the founder and Managing Director of Sound Point Ventures, LLC, a venture development and management company she started in 1998. Through Sound Point she co-founded and manages Angels with Attitude, the first active angel venture fund focused on sustainable cleantech investments. She served as the interim CFO of portfolio company Advent Solar, Inc., and most recently was the founding president of Acoustic Cytometry Systems. Kristin's experience includes 10 years in the energy industry, most recently as COO and Treasurer of Pepco Energy Services, Inc., an unregulated spinout from Pepco Holdings, Inc. She was a founding partner of New Vantage Partners, LLC, a registered investment advisor focused on private equity for individuals, family offices, and family foundations. Kristin has a BS from Boston University and an MBA in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University. She is a director of TraceDetect, Mobius Technologies, MACH Energy, and Acoustic Cytometry Systems.
