As Chairman, CEO and co-founder of MACH Energy, Walt has led MACH Energy’s rise to its position as the leading energy management technology solution for the commercial real estate industry. Walt has been a Full Member of ULI since 2009 and has been selected as one of the Top 35 executives to watch by the industry's technology trade association RealComm. Prior MACH Energy, Walt spent over 20 years in the energy industry in a number of key leadership positions. As Sr. Vice President, he ran the nationwide unregulated electricity and natural gas businesses for Sempra Energy, a $6B San Diego based utility. At Dow Chemical, he conceived of, secured funding for and guided a new division to profitability by leveraging several high profile deals including a landmark network transmission agreement that was reported on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in 1994. Walt started his career with Chevron USA after graduating from UC Berkeley with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
As Executive Vice President - Technology and Operations, Dale has built a team of talented professionals with expertise in product development and software applications engineering combined with a deep understanding of the energy industry. Over the course of 25 years in the energy industry, Dale has held executive and senior management positions at PG&E Energy Services, Pacific Gas and Electric Company and E-lecTrade, a start-up company offering a web-enabled marketplace for large energy wholesalers. His technical expertise includes wholesale and retail electricity and gas trading, risk management processes and systems, customer energy usage data acquisition and data management, utility tariffs and cost structures, web-enabled user interfaces, and load aggregation, analysis and forecasting tools. Dale holds a Masters in Business Administration from Saint Mary's College and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Chico.
As CFO of MACH Energy, David manages the Company's financial position, banking and funding relationships, internal budgeting and variance reporting, accounting, insurance, legal, contract negotiation, tax, corporate reporting and human relations functions. The Company also relies on David and his 30 years of practical experience in energy, finance and consulting to help specify the business requirements for and to test new product offerings and internal systems upgrades. His prior work focused on transactions and projects involving energy purchase and sale, project development, commodity procurement, operations, and financing and negotiating business arrangements and contracts for end users, marketers and producers of electricity and natural gas. David's corporate experience includes Sempra Energy, NewEnergy, Destec Energy, ABB/Impell and Kaiser Engineers. David received his BS from the University of Minnesota and MS from the S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook.
Paul Koenig is responsible for Marketing and Client Services at MACH Energy. Paul has over 30 years in the high technology industry in a number of pre- and post-sales, sales, marketing, business development and executive leadership roles. Paul has both large corporate as well as startup experience, having worked at Bechtel Power, Apollo Computer, Oracle, Data General, Sybase, Active Software, Contivo, Versata and Transparency Software. Paul received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Jon is responsible for new business development at MACH Energy. Prior to joining MACH Energy, Jon spent a decade in financial services business development and transactional roles at Banc of America Securities, Cowen and Co. and Storage Technology Corporation. Jon completed $20B in transactions including the 2006 IDD Deal of the Year. He is also currently President for a non-profit multi-building office and multi-family project based in San Francisco. Jon is also a member of ULI San Francisco's Sustainability Committee.
Jon earned an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BS from the University of Northern Colorado. He has passed the CPA exam.
